Step 1: Clean, Sand and Prime 

  • Sand and clean the surface of debris

  • Spray or roll primer to solidify the substrate (optional)

  • Allow surface to dry completely

Step 2:  Cover and Mask

  • Use drop cloths, masking tape and other tools to protect area

  • Tape on decorative pattern as desired

Step 3:  Trowel, Scoop or Brush

Trowel

  • Use on wood, concrete, drywall

  • Best for large, flat horizontal or vertical surfaces

  • Mix a small amount of water

  • Apply in 1 even coat

 

Scoop

  • Good for almost any surface and object

  • Use ~80 grit sandpaper to roughen surface if too smooth

  • Use a silicone spoon spatula to apply

  • Use if very smooth, flawless surface is desired

  • Apply in 1 or 2 coats

 

Paint

  • Use on most surfaces

  • Good for curved or uneven surfaces

  • Mix up to 5% water

  • Apply in 2 coats, don't try to get it even in the first coat

  • The first coat will help the second coat go on even

 

Step 4: Unmask and Allow Drying

  • Unmask Immediately

  • Allow to dry above 50° F (10° C)

  • Will dry to the touch within 2-3 hours

  • Will dry hard within 24 hours

  • Will dry to the hardness of stone within 1 week
